Responsible business

Global value chains impact the livelihoods of individuals, especially those in vulnerable or marginalized communities. Informal waste workers, particularly in developing countries, which are essential to collect and sort beverage cartons for recycling, are at risk, and FBCA members support fair and safe working conditions while promoting social responsibility. The operational tasks carried out in the facilities, along with the equipment used by employees, entail inherent safety risks. Our members are dedicated to fostering a safety-centric culture aimed at mitigating these risks.

FBCA members promote:

  • Respect to human Rights and Safe Working Conditions: By assessing and mitigating risks in their supply chains in collaboration with their suppliers, ensuring respect for human rights and safe working conditions.

  • Waste workers well-being: promote local initiatives that improve the well-being and livelihoods of waste workers in vulnerable regions.

  • Employee Safety and Development: Promote the safety, well being, diversity and professional development of their employees.
