Vision
The Food and Beverage Carton Alliance’s vision is for food and beverage cartons to be recognized as an integral part of resilient food systems building on a value chain that is respectful of our planet's scarce resources and strives towards renewability and reduced climate impact.
Our members are innovating daily to contribute to resilience and climate security, by working towards fully renewable and ever more sustainable packaging, which is safe, and extends the shelf-life of food inside.
Mission
Our platform provides the food and beverage carton value chain a common trusted voice - globally and locally - leading policy representation and stakeholder engagement to improve understanding of how food and beverage cartons contribute to circular economies and food systems transformation.
We advocate for public policy that recognizes the essential role of food and beverage cartons, stimulates just transitions towards low carbon circular economies and provides fair competitive landscapes for industry.
We share science-based facts and figures demonstrating the environmental performance and sustainability benefits of cartons, collecting and consolidating aggregated industry data, information and research for policy advocacy, communication and benchmarking purposes.

Our ways of working
The framework below illustrates how we structure our efforts to deliver impactful results across policy, communications, and expertise.
Our work is organized into three core areas:
- Policy and Regulatory Affairs: Focuses on policy and advocacy work at both the EU and global levels, collaborating closely with national associations to drive progress.
- Communications: Develops strategic communication assets, messaging, and tools tailored for both EU and global regions, supporting engagement and outreach.
- Center of Expertise: Oversees four key platforms - Food, Renewability, Climate, and Circularity - each dedicated to addressing critical challenges and fostering innovation in their respective areas.
Through this integrated approach, we ensure alignment, collaboration, and efficiency in achieving our shared goals.
