Spotlight on food and beverage cartons with FBCA Board Member, Tamara Bullock at the Parliament Sustainability Event on Thursday 15 May

May 7, 2025

With environmental pressures mounting alongside economic demands, the path toward a resilient, low-carbon and circular economy is becoming a central focus for both industry and policymakers.

Among the must-see sessions at this year’s Parliament Magazine’s Sustainability Summit is a keynote fireside chat with Tamara Bullock, a seasoned global corporate affairs leader and sustainability advocate, in conversation with Andrew Gelston, Senior Communications Manager for the Food and Beverage Carton Alliance (FBCA). Bullock, who leads public policy and government relations for Europe at Tetra Pak and serves on the FBCA board, brings over 20 years of experience in driving strategies around the circular economy, biodiversity, and sustainable food systems.

Ms. Bullock is a key voice in shaping the EU’s path to a more prosperous, climate-smart future. She will openly discuss the unrealized potential of food and beverage cartons in assisting Europe's shift to low-carbon and circular food systems.

During the chat, the FBCA will investigate how food and beverage cartons can promote environmental and food security objectives when they are made to be recyclable, renewable, and ethically sourced. Participants will gain insights into how the FBCA is contributing to EU policy discussions by sharing industry expertise and supporting evidence-based approaches to initiatives like the Green Claims Directive and the Circular Economy Act.

With the support of industry members Billerud, Elopak, SIG Group, Stora Enso, and Tetra Pak, the FBCA is providing the food and beverage carton sector with a powerful, cohesive voice in Brussels and beyond, promoting climate-smart packaging, circularity, and renewability.

This stimulating discussion will be ideal preparation for Session III: "Safeguarding the Future: The Need for Checks and Balances in the Circular Economy," in which experts and policymakers will discuss how laws such as the Circular Economy Act can promote innovation, guarantee industry fairness, and strengthen the EU single market for waste.

The larger picture begins to emerge during the FBCA’s spotlight - don't miss it!
