FBCA Iberia participates in Unidad Editorial Circular Economy Conference

FBCA Iberia took part in the Circular Economy Conference organised by media group Unidad Editorial. The event convened policymakers, industry representatives and sustainability experts to explore how circularity can support competitiveness, industrial resilience and resource efficiency.

Representing the food and beverage carton sector, Emilio Oviedo, FBCA's Iberia Regional Director, contributed to discussions on translating circular economy objectives into practical and effective solutions. Key themes included collection and recycling performance, eco-design, cross-value chain collaboration, and the enabling conditions required for circular systems to operate efficiently at scale.

The conference also provided an important opportunity to reinforce the positioning of beverage cartons as circular packaging solutions and to communicate FBCA’s advocacy priorities directly to senior policymakers. This included engagement with the Director General at the Spanish Ministry for Ecological Transition (MITERD), who is leading the development of the Royal Decree to implement the Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR) in Spain.
